Christie Shumaker, RMT
In 1994, Christie graduated from WCCMT after studying Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University. She continues to update her education, skills, and, knowledge in various massage areas like muscle energy technique, pregnancy massage, and active isolated stretching (AIS).
Among her treatments, Christie incorporates techniques such as:
• Swedish massage • Trigger point release • Passive/active stretching
She enjoys both living and working in Ladner and looks forward to many more years of helping the people in the community.
Jane Margetson, RMT
Even though Jane graduated from WCCMT in 1991, she continues to educate herself on the newest innovations in massage therapy. She has taken several continuing education courses in the following:
• Certified fitness theory • Exercise prescription • Weight lifting
• Craniosacral therapy • Evidence-based management of low back pain • Neuromuscular integration and structural alignment
• Zen shiatsu • Table Thai massage • Jin shin do • Massage-related conferences
Jane combines her education and experience to provide a massage therapy treatment that is both effective and safe.
Jeri-Lyn Munro, Registered Clinic Counsellor
Jeri-Lyn is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with BCACC who does client counselling with WorksafeBC, ICBC, Crime Victims’ Assistance Program, and ESI Employee Assistance Program. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) to resolve trauma, PTSD, and addictions.
Jeri-Lyn offers individual counselling for adults and affected family members. Clients may be people suffering from anxiety and depression, PTSD, trauma, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders. She also provides counsel regarding women’s health, loss and grief, and pain and chronic health issues.
Jeri-Lyn has experience working with mental health teams, hospitals, and palliative care. She obtained a Masters of Arts, Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University in Fredericton, New Brunswick as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree from Simon Fraser University. Jeri-Lyn and her husband have lived in Ladner for the past five years. She enjoys yoga, gardening, walking, cycling, and crossword puzzles. She comes from a blended family with four adult children and seven grandchildren.
Dilyana Nestorova, Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine
Dilyana studied at the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ICTCM) in Vancouver, BC where she completed five years of intense training. She has since achieved the highest level of certification available in her profession (Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine), and she has attained the licenses of Registered Acupuncturist, Registered TCM Herbalist, and Registered Doctor of TCM with the CTCMA (College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of B.C.).
Dilyana successfully treats a wide variety of disorders, and she has always recognized the importance of prevention in health care. She is passionate about treating digestive disorders, women's health, and physical pain whether acute or chronic. Dilyana believes that the right balance of physical and spiritual energy is the key to achieving a healthy, fulfilling, and balanced life. Regardless of her patients' conditions, she always focuses her treatments on the root cause of their disease. Dilyana is dedicated to working with her patients to help them develop lifestyle, diet, and mind-body practices that will optimize their health to the fullest potential.
